Termination from State of Illinois

Myself at 35 years of age - Friendly, polite & honest Mr Anup in Springfield, Illinois - Then (1992)Flag of the 'State of Illinois'; Land of Lincoln Myself standing at the American Airlines Arena Center, Miami, Florida Myself at 53 years of age - Lost in Miami, Florida - Present (2010) !
I lost my state employment and a career with the State of Illinois, due to tragic events that occured at the Memorial hospital; between you, Dr Alan Birtch & your own colleagues at Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology. I did nothing to you !! I was working for the State of Illinois, in Computer Operations and had made numerous influential contacts, with the Republican Party officials, Nobody would have dared to terminate me, as I had met Ms Janice Cellini, sister of Mr William Cellini, Chairman of The Illinois Republican Party. Besides, I was a descent gentleman and a good worker, who treated everybody with utmost respect and dignity. Never ever uttered an unnecessary word & just went about my way like an average American. In fact, people always called me the 'FOX'. Americans do not usually, refer to any person, in that manner, unless the person is really good & superb. I had made numerous friends in Springfield, Illinois. I got myself a job with the State of Illinois, because of considerable help from Ms Janice Cellini. I met Ms Janice Cellini, during the Christmas season of 1987. I had been to a local bar and was trying to cheer myself up, as I had not passed the United States Navy and the USAF Officer Training Test. I was really feeling quite miserable, as everything that I had planned was not working out. I met Janice Cellini, by chance. I offered to buy her a drink & we started a conversation. She enquired as to where I was from. I told her I was from India and she mentioned that she knew Dr Mehra and Dr Kumar. She asked me if I was Dr Kumar's son and I told her that I was acquainted with Dr Kumar, but I was not his son. I then formally introduced myself to her and mentioned that my father was an 'Indian Airlines' pilot, back in India and I had come to the United States as a student. I told her that I was a Computer Science graduate & was looking for a job as a Programmer/Analyst trainee. Then Janice introduced herself & I asked her, if she was Mr Bill Cellini's wife. She replied that she was Mr William Cellini's younger sister. I was thrilled. I had met Mr Bill Cellini briefly, back in 1980, when I had worked for the Prairie Capitol Convention Center in the summer. I had heard a lot of good things about the Cellini's from other people. Mr William Cellini (Bill) is an Entrepreneur and a Springfield developer. He is a popular, influential Springfield Republican businesman and good friends with Ex-Governor Jim Thompson, Ex-Governor Jim Edgar etc. The 'Cellini' household name, is very prominent in Springfield, Illinois and Illinois politics. They have worked hard, achieved success and made it to the top. I have always admired and respected Governor Jim Thompson also. Not once, did I ever make a derogatory remark about Governor Jim Thompson. In fact, once at a Springfield lower-upper party gathering, some people were really talking nasty about Mr Thompson. I do not know what their motive was ? But I actually got up & left the party saying " For christs sake gentlemen ! That is the Governor of Illinois, you are talking about !" That was back in 1986. I now, sometimes wonder, how could all this happen to me, despite being a good, loyal Springfield, Illinois Republican ?? How could people lie about me & hate me like that ??? I was waiting for an oppurtunity like this for years. I knew, that if I acted properly, I could get any bloody job in Springfield, Illinois. I told Janice that I had been to a Roman Catholic High School in India and had studied the Roman history, quite in detail. Janice was impressed by me and invited me to visit her, in the Secretary of State/State of Illinois. She was Executive Assistant to Mr Jim Edgar, then. She offered me a job as a Temporary Office Clerk. I pleaded with her if she could get me a job as a Programmer/Analyst Trainee. She said that she wanted me to get hired first & then later, she would get me into Programming. I started working for the State on March 3rd, 1988 as a temporary clerk in the Drivers services . When the temporary season was over in August,I visited Janice again and asked her, if I could be hired as a permanent worker, as I had done a reasonable good job. Janice made a few phone calls and then got me hired as an Intermittent clerk in September. I worked for about 3 months and did a reasonable good job again, while employed in the accounting department. Meanwhile I started stopping by Janice's office once in a while, to remind her that I was actually interested in a Programmers position. While I was in the building, I would always hear other employees talking, "No way Programmer Analyst Trainee, No way Programmer Trainee. Keep him out of there ! I don't want him near her. Damn! I don't want him to see her...." Why would they do that to me, when I was a well behaved, descent gentleman ? I was perfect ! Soon after that other employees in the Secretary of States office began to get envious and jealous of me. They really never wanted me to get to know Janice real well. They knew that Janice could take me to the top in the State of Illinois. I could get to meet and know other top party officials. They never wanted me to rise that quickly. They would always discourage me from visiting her and soon I began to hear all sorts of unpleasant gossip, etc. But I was always a well behaved, descent gentleman around Janice Cellini; in fact around all my colleagues. Why would they behave like that, when I was polite and nice to everybody ? Something I still could not understand even today. I once even heard Alderman Irv Smith, mention to someone that he would not be able to look at me, if I ever walked into his office along with Janice Cellini. That same Christmas, 1988, I received a call from Janice Cellini, while at work. Janice wished me a very Merry Christmas and I was absolutely thrilled, that she had personally called me !!! She told me that there was a Computer Operator 1 position available in the Driver Services Department; and she wanted me to take that job. I thanked her & told her that she was wonderful and would rather wait for the Programmers position. Janice said that once I would become a Computer Operator and a permanent employee she would try and transfer me into Data Processing, as a Programmer. I thanked Janice and accepted the Computer Operator position. The next day I went to the Personnel office, to get my ID photograph taken for the new Job title. I heard an employee mention to another employee, that she would not like to see me for a few years as I had been to the Personnel office 3 times already that year, for a new badge ID. Many State employees were envious of me and never wanted me to get acquainted with Janice real well. Janice Cellini was practically the right-hand person to the Governor. I even heard Ms Karen Hasara once mention to another Illinois official that she would not be able to see me if I walked into the State Capitol building along with Janice Cellini. Why? I was a nice, well behaved, descent gentleman? Why would people act like that, I still don't understand? I started working as a 'Computer Operator' on Jan' 2nd, 1989. I treated all my fellow-workers and superiors with respect. I hardly mentioned to anyone about Janice Cellini or how I got that job or who my friends were in the State Department. It seems they already knew who I knew. I was well trained and knew how to work, without uttering anything unnecessary about anything. No matter what people would say or do, they could not make an ass out of me. I was good at that ! I could not help that I had a Bachelors degree in Computer Science and had influential Republican contacts. I began doing my job and was being trained to print large quantity of documents, on high-speed printers. I would set the printer and its switches and controls on certain precision point and the printing would begin. While I would, go to do, another job function, somebody would go and mess with my controls. hence the printed document would not come out 100 % perfect. Somebody was sabotaging my work. This happened about 2-3 times, and in May' 1989, I was terminated. I was terminated with about 1 month left before I became a permanent employee. When I appealed, I was given a polygraph test and accused of stealing some coins (quarters) from some employees desk. I denied that. They said that I was terminated and cannot work for the State anymore. They just wanted to get me out of there. All this was just an excuse and a lie ! Sometimes I wonder, whether my termination from the State, was due to my acquaintance with Janice Cellini or the Memorial Hospital related crisis that had occured with you as the victim. I believe that tragic event occured during the last days of December 1988. I did nothing to you. My God! AND ALL THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME!!!
