Visiting the Gunrange
  (Long Live Indo-US-Israeli treaty on Anti-Terrorism) 


    


I am an Indian-American , and belong to a successful & professional, community in the United States of America. 'Indians' 
are considered an economic asset to the US Government. We hardly engage in any criminal activity. 'Crime Statistics', proove 
it ! We are one of the most law-abiding; foreigners in the United States. 'India, United States & Israel' are partners in 
this world-wide 'War on Terrorism'.

I own a black S&W Magnum 629' 6" .44Cal, revolver; a black IMI Desert-Eagle' 6" .44Cal; a black Beretta Cougar' 8000F 3.5"   
9mm and a black Beretta Bobcat' 21A 6.35mm safety pistol, a true beauty indeed. (I would like to give you, both my Beretta's,  
if you, would gladly accept them. To do this, I will have to transfer them to you, legally, in your name) I will instead,   
get me a Glock 21 SF 45 Auto  / Gen4 .45 Auto"; pistol. The Glock 21; is an excellent powerful, reliable, convenient weapon      
with the local Law Enforcement, Security & Military personel. I will try to get my tampered & damaged S&W Magnum 629 pistol; 
repaired. Darn!
 
I always like to visit the local Gunrange once a month and shoot a box or two of handgun ammunition, for self practice. It 
relaxes me, and gives me the feeling that I will be able to defend myself & dear ones, if I am ever threatened or shot at. 
I have been threatened with 'handguns & shotguns' numerous times in the past I am also a gun lover and have always admired 
'Handguns & Rifles' ever since I was a kid growing up in India.  I have always been a law-abiding citizen and have had no 
past criminal record in the United States or as a matter of fact even in India. I have never intented to cause anyone any 
physical harm, ever in the past. I was groomed well, in a moral, Christian, school environment. I applied for a 
Florida-Concealed-Weapon-Permit in Miami and was issued one in 1998.
 
I was charged with a 'misdemenour / felony' in Miami, when I pulled out my hangun in self-defense & pointed it at a fellow 
citizen who had a hammer in hand, & was threatening me, over a traffic arguement. I was arrested, despite having a valid 
permit and other identification documents. I really felt that my rights were violated. I was incarcerated for 3 months and 
fined and put on 'Probation / Parole' for 3 years. JUST BECAUSE I POINTED A GUN IN SELF-DEFENSE ! On top of this, the cop
(policeman), who arrested me swore in the court, that I pointed my gun at him, when he asked me to stop. That was a plain 
lie. I followed all his instructions and came out with my hands raised in the air. Then he swore that my hand-gun was 
loaded. That was another lie ! My handgun was not 'chambered' The 'safety' was ON ! Thats it. The police 'constable' who 
stopped me did not complete the 'arrest procedure' & after that just left. He did not read me my rights especially, the 
'MIRANDA RIGHTS' (Miranda Vs Arizona; 1964).  2 other policemen completed the arrest report and took me to the station ! I 
felt very frustrated & dissapointed with the Department of Law Enforcement ! But I never said anything. I strongly beleive 
that 'Law Enforcement' is important to our society; & without it our society would be in complete chaos ! 'Law & Order' has 
to be maintained. I have always had great respect and admiration for the Military & Law Enforcement personel; ever since I 
was a kid growing up in India. "Sherlock Holmes & Agatha Christi" were my favorite mystery & detective novelists along with 
John Wayne and Clint Eastwood, etc as police detectives.

Being new in Miami, without any friends or personal legal counselling, I was 'pressured' to plead guilty to the charges and 
get myself released. As a result, I was placed under 'Probation / Parole', until Sept' 2004 & was unable to have any contact 
with firearms in vehicle, until I had satisfactorily completed probation. As a result, I have not been visiting the local 
Gunrange, for fire-practice, as I will have to transport firearms in vehicle to and from Gunrange.

In 2004, I successfully completed my probation, appealed to Judge Hon. David Miller and retreived my 9 MM Beretta 8000 F  
from police custody. I plan on seeing the Judge (POSSIBLY with an attorney, an old family friend, Mr Randy Wolters, from
Springfiled, Illinois) to get my case records expunged (sealed); & TRY to get my firearms 'possession rights' reinstated.  
I am a descent, Florida resident and have not committed any serious crime. I am not a common day-to-day petty-criminal &  
do not have a 'criminal mentality'. YES ! I DO AGREE THAT GUN LAWS ARE STRICT AND CITIZENS ARE NOT QUITE FULLY AWARE OF THEM. 
But my case was of pure SELF-DEFENSE. I think, I have learned my lessons regarding 'GUN LAWS' now. YOU CANNOT POINT A GUN AT 
ANYBODY. No matter what!  Law Enforcement is a learning process. Besides it is my 'constitutional right' to bear firearm. 
The 2nd AMENDMENT, clearly defines that! Thereafter, I hopefully plan on becoming a regular, at the local Gunrange again. I 
am a gun lover & a member of the National Rifles Association.

I have always desired to own an assault-rifle.  I would like to buy myself, a (30Caliber 7.62x51mm) automatic-assault-rifle,
the old Indian, modified FN FAL, if allowed by the federal-authorities for civilians. For personal-safety / work-related, I    
would buy, a Remington 12 Gauge semi-automatic shotgun. I am a gun lover, however I am not into shooting birds and animals   
for pleasure / sports. I am not into hunting; strictly target-shooting. I want to take my Pistols (handguns); back with me to   
New Delhi, India, after my studies are complete in the United States !! I have to apply for an Indian Firearms permit. Being  
a good ex-Indian citizen in good standing; I should have no problem in acquiring, dual citizenship status, with mother India.
