AMPITHEATERS
Ampitheaters originated > 2500+ years in ancient Greece. These ancient theaters were constructed below ground level in such
a unique fashion, that the sound echo from the center of the stage, could be heard loud & clear from all over the Ampitheater,
without any modern sound devices. These 'natural' ampitheaters ruins, still exist today, outside Athens & other Greek Isles.
One of the finest & largest Amphitheater that I have visited is The BankAtlantic Center; in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, home
to the Florida 'Panthers', hockey team. The amphitheater is a large, modern, indoor structure with seating capacity of
approximately 20,750.
The 2nd largest Music Ampitheater that I have visited is The Assembly Hall, in Urbana-Champaign, Illinois, home to the
University of Illinoi's basketball team,"The Fighting Illini". The ampitheater is a huge,dome-shaped modern indoor stadium,
completely enclosed. It has an advanced electronic acoustic system and seating capacity of about 17,000+
I think, I have seen approximately 50+ good Rock'n'Roll music concerts, in the United States, majority of them in my home
state of Illinois. I have always loved British Rock'n'Roll music, ever since I was a teenager in Calcutta, India. The reason
why I have emphasized the word 'British' is due to the fact that most of the music I was exposed to in India was basically
English. In fact English is the language of Rock'n'Roll. Rock'n'Roll was born in England in the early 60's and came to the
U.S. from England. ( The British Invasion! )
India was a part of the British Empire briefly, for almost 350 years and when the British left India, they left the English
language behind. English is the first language of India and approximately 300 million Indians speak the language fluently. The
English Language connects the North, South, East and West. In fact, English is the language of instruction in all the major
city Schools, Colleges and Universities in India. English is the language of Government and Commerce in India.
I was first exposed to British rock music, in the late 60's, when my late-father bought me the entire collection set of
"The Beatles". I also began listening, to Indian Classical Pop stars such as, Cliff Richards, "Englebert Humperdink", who
were Anglo-Indians (Mixed-Indians of British descent), who shot to fame in India & UK. The 'Beatles', had an Anglo-Indian
drummer, 'Pete Best', before Ringo Starr joined in. Thereafter my love for English music grew stronger year after year and
quiet soon I had a nice 'collection'. I would exchange and borrow / tape new (LP) albums and cassettes from my friends, who
had a bigger and more updated collection.
