UNABLE TO RECIEVE MEDICAL-TREATMENT; AFTER SUSTAINING SLIP & FALL INJURY! (April '2006 - Present) __________________________________________________________________
I have worked in the past at various Denny's Restaurant in Miami, Florida from July' 1998 - December' 2011. In April' 2006, I sustained a knee injury due to a slip & fall, in which I dislocated my Patella Knee-Cap. As a result my right knee was swollen like a coconut . There was plenty of fluid accumulation, due to torn muscle ligaments attached to the knee. Next morning I went to the Mercy Hospital Emergeny Center & requested them if they would drain my fluid from the knee, so that I would gradually recuperate from the knee-injury. It takes about 30 days for the swollen knee to rehabilate and recover. The hospital staff admitted me and performed an MRI to determine whether I had fractured any bones. I told the staff, that I do not have any broken bones but I have muscle ligaments torn & as a result, damaged blood-fluid has accumulated around the knee. They would not drain the fluid from my knee. They mentioned to me that they do not perform this kind of work, at the ER & recommended that I seek an appointment with the Orthopaedic Department. I insisted that the Emergency Room performs all kinds of Emergencies & even have a Resident traing Doctor on schedule, to meet any emergencies. They denied me service & I limped and got into my Chrysler Jeep Wagoneer; left and went to my apartment. I went to work the next day & was limping ver bad, as my knee was swollen with blood fluid. I began wearing an elastic knee brace to keep it tight. I went to South Miami Hospital and requested them to drain my right kee but they would not listen to me. I tried and went to four medical clinics and they would not honor my request. All these clinics gave me an X-Ray and MRI Scan, despite me telling them that I do not have any fractured (broken) bones, just muscle tear and that I have already had an MRI Scan done. It was very frustrating. I was in pain and had to limp to walk, else I would break my Patella Knee Cap. It was really very uncomfortable, painful and embarassing. I COULD'NT BEND & FOLD MY RIGHT KNEE COMPLETELY !!
I found out later that some wicked people were following me around and telling the clinic staff to not drain my knee. I continued to limp and walk for practically 10 years in Miami, Florida. I quit Denny's Restaurant in 2011, as I could not perform my waiters tasks and routines efficiently, as I became very slow due to the swollen knee & bad limping. I got myself hired at CVS Health, in Summer 2012, as a Night Shift-Supervisor. In 2016, an observing, caring CVS customer suggested that I get my knee examined, as it was a serious injury! He told me to go to Miami Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Center and see Dr. Daniel Kalbac.

FINALLY AFTER 10 LONG PAINFUL YEARS I GOT TO GET MY KNEE EXAMINED BUT WITHOUT PROPER TREATMENT (Summer - 2016) __________________________________________________________________
I made an appointment to see Dr. Daniel Kalbac, at his Sports Clinic in Miami, Florida. As I went inside the clinic, for the appointment, I got to speak to a caucasian Doctor, who told me that it is not a good idea to start fighting with other people. I told him, that I did not start a fight with anyone. On the contrary, I tried to stop a fight between my dining couple guests and another angry, restaurant customer. I DO NOT KNOW WHO HE WAS BUT HE WAS JUST LECTURING ME ON DECENSY. He was a rude person, who started talking to me, without me saying anything to him. It was as if he was waiting there for me. I kept quite and went on to the clinic rooms and sat and awaited Dr. Kalbac. After about 20 minutes, Dr Kalbac came and introduced himself to me. He enquired about my injury. I MENTIONED TO HIM THAT I SLIPPED AND FELL & DISLOCATED MY KNEECAP. LUCKILY, I DID NOT BEAK ANY BONES BUT I HAVE A SWOLLEN KNEE DUE TO FLUID ACCUMULATION & I WOULD LIKE TO DRAIN MY FLUID FROM MY INJURED KNEE. I mentioned to him that I can't squat & sit down completely on my knees & my work requires that I am down on my knees quite frequently. He sent me to the X-Ray room and got myself scanned.
Then after about an hour, Dr Kalbac told me that my legs were a little bit bent and not straight. He told me that he could make my legs straight. I said how are you going to do that? He mentioned that he could cut some bones from the right side of the knee and patch it to the left side, so that the entire leg would be straight. I said DAMN. Can you really do that? He mentioned that he could also perform that procedure to the left knee also and make them both straight. He suggested that I get a knee transplant also. I told him that my knee cap was not broken as I had not put too much pressure on it and for all these years I limped and walked, so that I would not break my knee. I asked Dr. Kalbac, if he could just drain the extra fluid from my knee. I told him that the joint was not healing, because of the fluid present in between them. As a result the joints were LOOSE. He then took a small syringe and took out some blood from the knee area. I told him that is not enough as the knee is still swollen. It has to be drained by taking out maybe a PINT of fluid. He then instructed me to go and see a Vascular Surgeon (Varicose Vein Specialist), to determine the blood-flow and get the fluid drained there
Then I got myself an appointment to see a Vascular Surgeon & he examined me and said that my arteries & veins are in excellent shape and condition. He enquired as to how he could assist me further. I told him that I have come here as instructed by Dr. Kalbac to get my fluid drained from my injured knee. The Vascular Surgeon told me that they do not perform that procedure at his clinic. He told me to go back to the Orthopaedic Surgeaon & they will drain my fluid at their clinic. I was so frustrated that I did not know what to do. I was just being bounced around like a bouncing ball. I just went back home thinking that slowly my knee will heal with the Physical theraphy. But Alas, nothing happened. The Physical theraphy will only work after the fluid has been drained and extracted. Without the fluid extraction, all the world's theraphy will nave no affect on the muscle tissue. No matter what?
After about a year, I went back to Dr.Kalbac and he enquired how was my knee. I told him that it is still stiff and I cannot bend it completely. I also told him that my knee was still swollen and the Vascular Surgeon told me that they do not drain the fluid there & to go back to the Orthopaedic Surgeon. He again took out a small syringe and took out some blood from the knee area. I told him that was not enough. He has to extract some more. I think he was just playing with my words. I had told Dr Kalbac that I am not a physical doctor like him, but I was a pre -medial student & have had classes in Biology, Chemistry & have basic knowledge of minor injuries and treatment. I was extremely cordial & polite in expressing myself, about all this. I just do not understand that I explained it to him in plain English, that I just wanted to drain the excess fluid from my knee. Maybe a PINT. Thats all. They were not taking me seriously and just playing with my words. It was as if that somebody had told them not to drain my fluid and deny me medical treatment. I had insurance and was paying for all his visits. I JUST COULD NOT UNDERSTAND THIS BEHAVIOR......(to be continued)
