The Government of India should accept Boeing's proposed plans to manufacture F/A-18E/F Advance Super Hornet in India; for world-wide distribution under the 'Make In India' initiative !! This will be a big opportunity for the Indian Aerospace companies, to gain modern technical know-how & experience, so that they can develop internally & export to 3rd world countries

The new Boeing F-18E/F has been extensively redesigned with a new fuselage and larger wing area, providing space for 33% more fuel capacity to increase range & endurance as well as payload. The Super Hornet is fitted with latest powerful General Electric 2xF414-EPE (Enhanced Performance Engine), for greater thrust-to-weight ratio, with a thrust of 117KN (26,400 lb) each. The F-18E/F is equipped with the APG-79 active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar as well as the advanced targeting forward looking infrared (ATFLIR) system & the joint helmet mounted cueing system (JHMCS). The F-18E/F is an experienced combat jet with a fully operational, functional, multi-mode AESA radar. It has greater payload, more powerful radar & avionics than the competitors. The Super Hornet is proven in combat! However, it is a bit heavy. If BOEING could trim its under-belly (steel-plates) & reduce its weight & convert it to LAND-BASED; it becomes the best Mach 2+ fighter-bomber!! It is also, the best choice for the IAF, considering cost, technology transfer & important political factors! The United States should offer the more powerful GE-F414-EPE (120 kN) engine, for India's LCA MK11 jet-fighter, instead of the GE F414-INS6 (98 kN). India should accept Boeing's proposed plans to shift production facilities of the Advanced Super Hornet, F/A-18E/F to India; under the 'Make In India' initiative !!
